At Spring Street Christian Church we have a ‘give’ culture not a ‘get’ culture.
It is marvellous to consider how precisely and thoroughly God has considered the course of our lives—down to the finest detail, including where we live, move, and have our being (Acts 17:28).
Within His carefully crafted plans, He has created His Church: a place for us to grow, connect, serve and call home.
There are so many opportunities to serve in the House! Each of us have unique aspects to our lives that influence how we serve. What you do is not important, how much you do is not important. What is important is the heart behind it all, because that is what God is truly looking at. If you have a heart to serve there is always opportunity for you—no matter what your capacity is. Remember, we read in the book of Thessalonians that we turn from our old ways of life (our idols) to serve a true and living God. Let’s ensure that in all we say and do, our motivation comes from a heart attitude to grow in Him and show others the grace we have experienced for ourselves.
THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT VOLUNTEERING
Before becoming actively involved, we would love to become more acquainted with you so we can adequately serve you better and see your flourish in the house. This expression of interest is one step toward that, after which someone will be in contact with you to discuss your involvement potential further! We will also give you the opportunity to ask all the questions that may pop into your head!
We have provided a list of areas of involvement to inspire you to consider where you can be involved and to what degree. Spring Street thrives on a team of volunteers who are not just committed to an ‘area’ but are committed to do whatever it takes.
VOLUNTEER ‘DNA’ COURSE
If you are new to the church, or haven’t volunteered before we will also be in touch to invite you to our ‘DNA’ Course. This course provides a fast-track look at the journey we have been on as a church addressing core values, culture and convictions.
